About the event
Joanna Fuhrman is an Assistant Teaching Professor in Creative Writing at Rutgers University and the author of seven books of poetry, including To a New Era (Hanging Loose Press, 2021) and the forthcoming Data Mind (Curbstone/Northwestern University Press, 2024). Fuhrman’s poems have appeared in Best American Poetry 2023, The Pushcart Prize anthology, The Academy of American Poets’ Poem-a-Day, and The Slowdown podcast. She first published with Hanging Loose Press as a teenager and became a co-editor in 2022.
Alice Kaltman is the author of two story collections and three novels. Most recently she’s published a graphic memoir entitled, Alice’s Big Book of Mistakes. Her historical fiction novella, Mother and Daughter Sit for a Portrait, is forthcoming in 2025 from WTAW Press. Alice’s work has been nominated for Best American Short Stories, Best Small Fiction, and the Pushcart Prize, and was a Wigleaf Top 50 in 2024. Alice splits her time between Brooklyn and Montauk, NY where she lives, surfs, and swims with her…
